To create a political alliance after a cancelled betrothal to King Saul's son, Princess Maakah marries the shepherd-warrior rebel David ben Jesse. When he becomes king over Judah, Maakah must choose allegiance to her people, or learn to place her faith in Yahweh, the God who protects David.
